For US Customers who don't like being tethered to a contract with one of the big carriers, but still want to get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy S III, MetroPCS might be just the ticket. If you live in an area where you can get MetroPCS service, they will be getting the SGS3 on October 22nd for $499.99 off-contract. Here's a quote with a few more details,
MetroPCS said that when comparing total costs of the smartphone and its $55 monthly service plan against other 4G LTE operators, its version will save you approximately $1,200 or more over the course of two years.

"We are excited to make the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone available to our no annual contract subscribers," Tom Keys, president and chief operating officer of MetroPCS, said in a statement. "With roughly one million 4G LTE customers already, we recognize that many want a premier smartphone that offers an array of high-end features and runs on our 4G LTE network."

PCMag's lead analyst for mobile, Sascha Segan, got some hands-on time with the Samsung Galaxy S III for MetroPCS this summer and said it's not a watered-down version of the phone, as you might expect.

"It's a real, honest-to-goodness GSIII, and it performed quickly and smoothly," he wrote. In our test, the phone achieved some of the fastest LTE speeds ever seen on MetroPCS's network.

This seems like a great idea for some folks. Share if this is something you would consider?
