Samsung has just announced a brand new rugged Android smartphone, called the Xcover. The phone is designed to be the world's first Android device with IP67 certification. It can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep and is also designed to stand up to dirt and dust. It will also sport the following known specs:
  • Gingerbread/Android 2.3
  • 3.6-inch scratch-resistant display
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash
  • 7.2Mbps HSDPA.
So far, the only country that it was announced for was Germany, but I would be surprised not to see it in the States if it does well in Germany. No pricing details were given, but the phone is expected to launch on October. This seems like the perfect Android phone to take to an Oktoberfest...
