S4 music distortion

Hey guys, need some help here asap.

So the problem I am facing is that when I play music on the speaker and flip the S-View cover on to the screen (or just press the power button to put it on standby), my music begins to distort, as if its playing at x0.1 speed.

Looked over some of the other threads and didn't come across this problems.
Would really appreciate some assistance. Thanks.

I've been having a similar problem with volume control. Seems like the equalizer in the play app has some problems. I'll turn up the volume, then it will get quiet. I turned it back up only to have the volume increase again to the point where I've had to rip my headphones off.

So I called the local store to ask about this. They said perform a hard reset (reminded me of the blackberry days) anyway, did that and it works fine now. Thank you for the help.
