S4 from Verizon or S4 Dev. Edition?

I have the Verizon version and it's been the best stock user experience I've had on android, ever. Touchwiz I thought would be annoying and slow but it's completely the opposite. Normally by now I'd be on my 3rd rom but I left it stock rooted and it is awesome. I have no interest in roms right now and really see nl reason to either

It would be cool to have a Dev version. Flash anything you wish, tinker with it and all that good stuff whenever you want. The downside for me is it will be my daily driver and with that comes my data. Even if that data is in backed up in the cloud or backed up locally with an app like TiB, it gets old over time. I enjoyed flashing ROMs years back but now I'm happy with root and the stock UI of the S4, I did the same with my old D4, rooted stock.

The good side to the dev edition is it'll get the updates streamlined directly to the device as they are released rather than waiting for slow big red to release them a few months later...

With that said, I work for Verizon Wireless so I may be a little biased ;-)

I thought it was interesting that Samsung wants developer-specific information when you proceed to checkout with a Dev Edition S4. Is this just a required formality?

I suggest you download Nova Launcher, much faster and smoother than Touch Whiz.

See nothing wrong with TouchWiz and it's been smooth since day 1. Was never really a fan of Nova Launcher either, I always found myself using Apex Launcher.
