rubix issues need some help

ok so i downloaded 1.8.9 and for some reason its showing on the sys info that i have 1.8.6 so im kind of lost with that also for some reason my vzw backup assistance is not even working when i try to clik on it in the seetings nothings happens so i need help

This is normal.... Drod posted in the ROM thread that he just simply forgot to change it too 1.8.9. No biggie. Not exactly sure why VZW backup is not working.

ok i guess i can live with that but still i cant live without this vzw update im trying to look around but cant find nothing. i even went to vzw.com wireless and tried doing a contact sync from the website and i got this a message from 6200 and it said this //F1TYPE=SAS;UI=1;CONT=,,; so now im really lost

I would try posting in the ROM's thread and see if anyone has experience with it. I do not use VZW Backup As sorry I just export my contacts to SD. Never really messed with the app much sorry.

well its not an app really is part of the phones sys program i think, they dont have an app for the DX so the phone comes with it already installed but for some reason its not working after i installed the rubix rom, just to make it clear i did everything that i had to do in order to install it meaning i followed all the instructions.

You can change it yourself if you go to root explorer- system- longpress build properties- open in text editor- change rubiX 1.8.6 to rubiX 1.8.9.

Click the r/w in the upper right hand corner of system in root explorer and you should be able to edit it

Good luck with backup assistant. Its not gonna work for you. I don't think it works for anyone not on stock settings but I could be wrong.

What issues are you having with backup? Or is it just the contacts backup?

no im running rubix 1.8, everything else seems fine but for some reason my contacts wont sync with vzw when i tried going into settings and going into backup assistant it will not open so im kind of lost here now i dont know what to do in order to get my 100+ contacts back, last thing i want to do is add them 1 by 1

If you still have your old phone you could always go to verizon and have them transfer them for you for a fee. Lol. Its not really funny. I've tried backup assistant and lookout and neither one worked for me. I just did the pick and choose method of who gets put on my phone and then I exported them via vcard to sd in the contacts settings menu

well after trying to tinker with root manager to edit it the file and change the 1.8.6 error to 1.8.9, had no luck. also i uninstalled rubix because it does not have the backup assistant not even under settings, i really love this rom for its crisp and sharp looks but no backup assistance no rom for me, also heard that being that i was looking around and found out that because this rom is not blurred the radio app does not work. i hope there will be a fix for this rom cause i really really like it...

This rom is intended to be a blur free rom so I don't think drod will be adding any blur features whatsoever

Why use vzw assistant? Transfer all your stuff to Google and use that to back your info up, it is better anyway. As far as the fm radio app... well you have pandora which rocks or just stream from whatever station you want to listen to. Or buy a $5 little radio tuner lol.

Beat me too it lol... I was going to recommend just running Rubix Blurry. I also agree there are a lot of better backup methods then VZW assistant. But two each his own. I wouldn't leave Rubix Focused it a really great ROM.
