Wifi Teather

I installed Titanium Backup, Barnacle, which doesn't work anymore, so I installed Open Garden's WiFi. The App works but it would seem that the WiFi Hotspot program is blocking my access. Is there a way around this issue that doesn't involve paying an extra 30 dollars to the carrier?
