You're kidding...that sucks- so now I have to SBF the thing, get all my bloatware back in order to receive the update? Can I do a USB install instead?

If it's the official OTA all the stock files need to be on the device or it will fail.

There are a ton of threads that mention all stock files must be on the device to install the OTA update.

I think once you sbf, all the bloatware should be back and you can get the update

He must have removed or froze some of it. I don't think you need to be unrooted but better to be on the safe side

P3Droid has layed all the necessitys for receiving the update on his twitter. You have to be running bare stock .340 Froyo. You can't be rooted with bloatware removed. And once you recieve the 2.3.3 update there is no root for it as of right now.

SBF'ing isn't that hard man. Once you have all the files, a monkey could do it. And all the stuff on your phone like apps and contacts restore back. At least mine does.

Yep, SBF is a quick and easy procedure. Just have the latest moto divers and your all set.

Every other update has worked if you were running the stock rom and rooted, as long as all the stock files were in tact. Has this changed to where you cannot be rooted now too?
