So we'll be getting OTA 2.2 update pretty soon.
What would you do when it comes out?

Considering the 2.2 will likely bring the phone to a more finished/polished product (as in how it should have been released) and that root will likely come quick afterwards. No reason to wait.

I'm seriously considering unrooting mine. It might be easier to root 2.2(if at all possible) than trying to crack the boot loader.

There is no point in unrooting. There will be ROMs based off the OTA anyway. If you keep root you have the best of both worlds, official 2.2 and root benefits (ie overclocking ect)

If you stay on 2.1 rooted, and the bootloader gets cracked, then it wont matter. You can go whichever way you'd like. If you want those freedoms in the future, I recommend staying on 2.1 w/ root.

I'm staying on my rooted 2.2 and never using a stock firmware ever again on my Droid.
Yeah ... why would you root on 2.1 instead of using a rooted 2.2 rom? That makes no sense to me.

1. So the boot loader for 2.1 isnt cracked yet either is it for the X.... ie. no custom ROMS anyway...because of efuse..

2. Uh huh.. just like everyone thought droid x was going to be unrootable when it launched? What it take 2 weeks to root it... I am sure 2.2 will be rooted too lol.
