Root Fails at 80%

Hi All,
My friend tried rooting his Nextbook Ares 8 Tablet and the root failed ay 80%, is his phone bricked or can he recover and how? Thanks.

Did you get TWRP installed? If so, did you make a backup? Will the tablet boot into the bootloader or TWRP or boot normally?
