ringtone trouble

i made a ringtone on a ringtone site and emailed it to my yahoo account then downloaded the ringtone to my droid. when i tried to open after download i recieved a message that said "Sorry the player does not support this type of audio file" this was downloaded in mp3 format. I feel that it may be in the settings because this is my second droid (first one had touchscreen failure). i was able to do the exact same thing on last droid without problem please help

Are you rooted? And make a folder on the root of your SD card called "ringtones" then when you go to set your ringtone, the file should be there to select.
