Returning a phone

So my friend recently purchased a Galaxy S3 Mini from VZW & is unhappy with the phone. They obviously paid the upgrade fee & is aware of the restocking fee when returning the phone, but are they going to be charged the upgrade fee again when they get another phone?

No, they should not be charged again. You should recieve a credit if you just return the phone.
