Removing items from pulldown

Anyone know how to do this? Such as removing the gps icon, or the airplane mode icon. I don't use half of them and would like to remove them. I'm no where near experienced enough to edit the framework. Thanks!

Yeah, I'm curious about this as well, or if there's a way to manually arrange them to your preference. My hunch is if there is a way to do it, it's not going to be easy. They do re-arrange themselves based on usage frequency which is cool.
