Reciving Multiple Text messages.

Running Droid X with Fly_X 0.1 Final,, and Gala X 1.6..
Im having a problem with reciving duplicate texts when someone sends me a message. I Recive 2 texts from text messages and then i recive 2 messages from the messages app. I Flashed the rom to Gala_X - The blue headed step child and was having same problem. Any help would be great.

Update!

I have fixed this problem.. By changing your encryption from AES to TKIP the wifi connection has stablized. I have been connected for 3 hours now with no problems at all.. Works great! , Hope this helps.

Anytime someone texts me via Google Voice, the text is also showing up and alerting through Handcent.

Any way to defeat this?

Moto Droid, Froyo, not rooted.

Forgot to mention, it happened after the last Handcent update. Was working fine under Froyo before that.

This is a moto problem, everyone had it if they are updated. Moto is working on an update.

You can try to use the app chompsms.. and you can turn off the notifications through the stock messages service. not only will it turn off alerts to that service but it will also stop populating with messages. Hope this helps.

I started getting duplicate messages of every message sent to me as of today. I have the HTC Eris with all of the current updates. I do not have a second messaging app installed either.

I am on the Verizon Nationwide + Canada plan. It started today (Oct-06-2010) for me.

Any suggestions or solutions?

Zaio, everything is stock -- I have not rooted my phone. I am in Canada for school so reprogramming OTA can't be done either

From what i have found.. the problem is a phone update that missed when the HTC Eris had updates pushed, What i know work is switchin to a third party SMS app and disable the notification on the messeges app.

I haven't received any Eris updates for a couple of months, now. I am in Canada at school now, and haven't had any issues like this even when I was back in the States.

you can go into the options on the stock sms app and choose to hide notifications, but the only people I get duplicates from are blackberry users when I had my bb storm people would get my texts 5x sometimes.

My Moto-X is doing this and it drives me crazy....I'll go back to my old Moto-1.
