i have a razr and when makeing calls my data goes off line is this right or is there something wrong with my phone

That sounds right if your on 3G. You shouldn't lose data if your on 4G though

it happens on 3g or 4g sales person said it should not happen

Just as Bang Pow said if you are using 4G and make a call you should still see a blue connection on 4G, if you are using 3G it should go away as you can not use data while making a call on 3G.
