Every time I plug my phone in to a comp it launches a verizon website wanting me to do backup assistant. I'm rooted, so is there any way to stop it from doing this
Uninstall the junk you installed from verizon.
Uninstall HTC sync.
ONLY install the htc device driver.
Of course, if you like the additional software, then go ahead and use it.
Also, there is a CD in the phone that causes a window popup (with software for you to install) when the phone is connected to a PC.
If you are rooted, you can go into the etc folder and rename or delete the .ISO file which causes this.
