Question regarding manual or ota update

Will doing a Manual update to 2.1 (if someone does have it) erase all my saved text messages.??? and how about OTA update(once i get it) will i still have my saved SMS?

No it should not delete anything.

Just did the manual update an hour ago and everything works great. All data is preserved as it should be, and the phone functions great. Got my live wallpapers running again. Loving it so far.

here's another question...if i do the manual update...will i still receive notification for future OTA updates???

As long as you're not rooted and running a custom rom, you should receive notices of future updates.
