Question about SMS

I used to have a Samsung Omnia and everytime i received a text, it would show a number over the sms icon showing how many unread messages i had.

Is there a way to do this with the droid?

Check the market for handcent sms, it has the option to make the hoescreen icon show what you want....great app.
