Question about pairing my droid with my macbook...

So I got a droid eris recently, and boy do I love it. :D
Today, I tried to pair it to my macbook (the recent silver sort) ... and it didn't work. That is - they both found one another or whatnot, but when I tried to send a file, the computer told me that the device didn't have the necessary capabilities or something like that.

Did I do something wrong? Should I just try, try again? Has anyone else experienced this? I do want to get some pictures onto my phone... help!

Thanks folks, and happy holidays! :)

Am I wrong in assuming the Eris is different than the Motorola in that it comes with a USB cable to connect to your computer to swap files? I've found the USB cable to be a simple procedure. Haven't tried bluetooth yet. Or wifi which some use.

When I paired my Moto Droid (not sure if this is the same with the Eris), it came up and said it didn't have the correct capabilities, do you want to try it anyway. I said yes, and it worked just fine. It is probably because it doesn't see OBEX File Transfer or something in the phone capabilities, but it still works.
