Privacy Firewalls..apk downloader extension?

Hi,

Just wanted to ak if any of you guys have used these apps?

I am planning to install an app that will control unwanted info to be sent outbound/inbound from my phone much like a desktop firewall(I use Emsisoft Online Armor Premium) so I asked here. I have recently have been a victim of bill shock and it apparently came from apps that I have installed calling home etc. My network billing me for every inch of data.

My phone isn't rooted (Sony Xperia J Jellybean 4.3).

might you share somne thoughts/experience if you have used one or both please.

Also, a friend gave a tip about downloading some files from GooglePlay via

APK Downloader [Latest] Download Directly | Chrome Extension v2 (Evozi Official)

On that site, they have a chrome extension there. It's not found in Google extensions so is this 'extension' safe to use?

I tried it and Norton flagged the link to that APK Downloader as highly suspicious. I would refrain from trying it and so I will be deleting the Hyperlink to the downloader.
