is it at all possible to made folders for your photos to keep them organized on your droid?

Absolutley! Download Astro file manager or Linda file manager from the market if you haven't already. This app will allow you to view/edit the contents of your SD card. Now mount your Droid and simply create a new folder directly on the SD card and place pictures in it. You can name the folder(s) whatever is relevant to your particular needs. The gallery will automatically find these. That's it!

Anyone know how to hide/remove folders from the gallery? I'd like to get rid of the stupid "drawable" folders from my gallery.

Alternatively, is there a better photo viewer out there (I'm rooted)?

To remove folders from the gallery just place a .NOMEDIA file in that folder. Any folder (and it's sub-folders) will not be picked by the gallery

BUT!!! how do you figure out WHICH folder these "drawables" are coming from!! this drives me whack too!

Drawable is most likely coming from Metamorph theme folders. Just place a .nomedia file in your AndroidThemes folder and you should be set. Assuming of course you don't have these theme folders unzipped anywhere else on your SD card.

I'm not certain if the gallery can pick up images that are in a .zip archive. So your Downloads folder should be safe as long as you haven't extracted any Metamorph themes into there.

Its not a folder, but an empty file. I would upload one, but I'm moving tomorrow and my computer is packed up

Instead, you may already have one somewhere on your SD card. I just looked on mine, Smoked Glass 2.0 has one, PullDown Editor 1.1 has one. If you can find one, just copy it and paste where needed.

Don't think I have metamorph, unless it was in one of the roms I flashed.

Anyway, I loaded BB0.7 the other day and I noticed I was able to delete the drawables folder from gallery. Maybe it deleted it from the SD card and I've screwed something up, but oh well.
