Pictures not being sent / messaging

Having trouble with pictures I send via text messaging to others phones. Maybe 50% of pictures I send actually get recieved... even if I send multiple times. I'm using Handcent for my messaging program if that matters.

Any ideas?

It is pictures and texts. Every 3rd or 4th message I send out gets rejected and I have to resend. There is suppose to be a software update available but my phone wont pull it. No its not (2.2). www.verizonwireless.com/droidxsupport
Good luck trying to get the update. It says my phone is fully updated when its not.

I'm still running 2.1. isn't 2.2 out now?
