phonebook app/facebook contacts. ringtones being erased...

I have ringtones set for certain people so that I have a clue who it when they call. When the contacts app decides to update/sync contacts from facebook, my ringtone data is erased and I have to reassign. My call log is also emptied. Is there another app for contacts/phonebook that will allow data to be retained?

not to hijack the question but i have a similare prob and dbud you may know the answer lol from some reason only part of my contacts on my phone links with my friends on my facebook. what info does fb or phone use to link the contacts? there name?

It catches on as long as the first and last name are exactly the same. When it syncs or updates, sometimes it separates the contacts if they are not identical. So make sure you edit the contacts and that they have the exact same name as it appears on facebook. Ringtone data assigned is still lost in the process of updating/syncing though. Somewhat frustrating
