Does anyone know a forum for people that do phone repair? I don't see a topic here for that

That's the idea! I just took on my first repair project. I bought a Droid x2 for My wife with a cracked screen and put a new screen in it. Now I'm thinking of doing more.

Considering I've done a few myself, I could see it being a powerful group. I've already started a thread in the "private" section of the forum where us "big wigs" hang out. Let's see where it goes.

I've always said I'm a hardware guy as that's where my 35+ yrs of work experience were before retiring. Never really messed w/ phones but would be very interested in learning. Experience runs from vacuum tube operated radar systems when I was 19 to multi-million dollar semiconductor tools most recently.

That would be an awesome topic for the forum... although I'm not sure I want to give away my "secret" about water damaged phones. I don't want more competition on eBay. Haha

I don't think anyone would require secrets to be given away. I was thinking more along the lines of what is a good supplier for a certain part, or is there a helpful tip for taking a certain phone apart ect.

I've recently had a bad experience with a supplier (I don't think i should name them, although i probably should) then i had a really good experience with a different supplier. I could get help with dealing with the bad situation, or recommend the good one

This is true. I would like to know how to take apart some of the newer Samsung phones.
