The phone mic cuts off randomly, as if muted. The person I am talking to can not hear me, but I can hear them. The battery has to be pulled to correct. I curently have the second phone with the same problem.
Is there a fix.

This seems to be a network issue that affects certain regions. You wouldn't happen to be located in AZ, would you?

Phone Mic Shuts off

I am in Florida. Verizon tells me this is a known issue and the fix is being worked on by Samsung. I can not find any thing on it though.

I have had this issue since I got those phone, it appears to happen when the phone gets hot, usually when charging and talking at the same time. I just reboot the phone using the power button, you don't need to pull the battery.

I'm having the same issue with my Mic. I was told that Samsung is aware of the issues and there will be s fix out soon. That's a really vague answer and unacceptable. I've had 3 replacements! I'm trying to b patient. My phone malfunctions on a daily basis! Sigh!

Funny, I just had this happen to me once last week and thought it was a fluke. Then a few days ago it happened a few times. Freaking annoying. I had to power the phone off and on again to get it to work correctly. Simply hanging up and calling back did not help it.

Yes!!!! Haven't had one relapse! Works just fine! Can't say that for my phone dropping 3g all the time, but the Mic works flawlessly now!

I tried pulling my battery and SIM card twice and had to try it again a few days ago when I had a repeat of the mic not working. I wonder if I'll have to try it yet again next week?

I have the same problem with my Droid Charge. I exchanged my phone twice for a new one... but the problem's still there. The mic shuts off, and there's nothing i can do to make it work except to restart the phone. Very frustrating.

Hoping that Samsung will fix this soon.

I had the same issue and called verizon, they stated that it was something wrong with the hardware. I would call them and tell them you want a new phone. I did and the mic works now.

Don't they send you refurbished phone when you have new defective unit if you outside the 14 day window? So basically you bought a new phone that didn't work and then send you a used phone that has been repaired? Sucks but I guess if it resolves the problem.
