So this is the first time I've plugged my phone into my computer to charge with this ROM and my phone started freaking out.

My screen won't do what I want it to do. For example:

* When the phone is locked and try to slide to unlock it won't. I can feel the heptic feedback but it won't slide the tab.
* Trying to go from one screen to another it won't respond
* In messaging app if I press the DEL key it starts typing random characters. Same with the smiley button.
* Application buttons don't respond
* Home, Menu, Back, Search buttons don't respond

It's almost as if my phone is possessed, but as soon as I unplug it everything is back to normal.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what could be causing this strange behavior?

Thanks

Don't use a third party charger if you are.

I'm not... this is the original Motorola USB cord that came with the phone. It's plugged directly into my desktop, and this is the first time I've had this problem.

It really makes the Droid freak out... lol

I noticed you stated with this ROM, which leaves me to believe you've tried other ROMS with no problems. Is that correct?

UPDATE:

The problem seems to be either with the USB port on my PC or the Motorola USB cord itself. I did not have a chance to test it on another port since all the ports on the back of my PC are already being used, and I only have one USB port on the front of the case.

I did however test it out on my deck dock and everything works fine. I'm now at work where I'm also using an OEM Motorola USB cable on my PC here and I'm not having any issues.

Mine too

My Moto Droid acts goofy also when it's plugged in.

I haven't seen it with the computer, but with cheaper chargers (ones thrown in on eBay et cetera). No doubt it's the second scariest thing I've seen with my phone. Gets your heart racing.

The scariest you ask? When I completely drained the battery the first time and it seemed to not come back.

When I first got my droid a couple of days later it would not boot at all. I was calling my store having a fit and all of a sudden it booted!
Apparently it was so dead it would not boot till it reached a certain charge state (like my iPod Touch).

If your running antivirus on your phone try removing it. My phone was doing the same and some times when installing or uninstalling programs. After I removed the anitvirus it has been 100% stable.
