phone book to sensitive to touch

I am having trouble. When I try to scroll through the phonebook by swiping my finger it always wants to call the contact that I touch while swiping. Is there a way to make it so I have to touch twice or something, so I can quit making unwanted phone calls. I kind of feel foolish trying to hurry and hang up hoping it did not ring the unwanted number on the other end. I know I was able to make my favorites to where they would show options of a call, message, or email instead of automatically calling. Can I do that with my phone book?
