Outgoing audio on handset doesn't work

When I make a call or someone calls me, no one can hear me. It works on my wired headset, or Bluetooth, or even on the speaker phone, but not just by holding the phone to my ear.

This leads me to believe that the regular microphone is physically damaged.

Could there be another reason? If it is, how can I get a new one, and repair it, without paying a ton of money?

What do I do if it's been rooted. It didn't work before I just2 rooted it.

I hoped rooting would fix it.

It didn't. Should I wipe to stock?

I got it literally 2 days ago.

Just wipe to stock, everything should be fine, I've sent a few Droid back that I rooted and put back to stock.
