Ongoing wifi notification !

This is by far the most disrespectful thing Verizon has done to a phone that i can think of to date. Why are there no riots over this stupidity?

Yeah, it sucks. Other versions of the S3 just have a WiFi toggle in the pull down notification area with the other toggles, but for some reason, Verizon wanted to go this way. The only way to get rid of it for now is to either install a custom ROM or root and use the process detailed here.

As for the really annoying WiFi popup notification that randomly appears when using mobile data, you can get rid of that without root. The process for that is discussed here.

my toggle is under the weather in the pull down inbetween the ongoing it say what wifi i am connected to i can click on it and it bring me to the wifi seting where i can turn it off or see how many more are around it works for me

Yeah, that's what we're talking about. It's not really a toggle. It's a notification (an annoying to me and many others) that will take you to the settings. The toggles are the switches above that which allow you to turn various things on and off without going anywhere else. All other versions of the S3 have a WiFi toggle there. This ongoing notification is something Verizon has started doing (the Incredible 4G has it too), and hopefully they'll stop it. There's no reason to take up that space with a message like that when a simple toggle will be even quicker.

oh ok guess i didnt know what you was talking about just switch from sprint after being with them for 20 years to Verizon with the s3 so having both ways was the same to me so far so good had a evo then a 3d before both rooted i think i am going to wait till the 29 or so to see what the ota looks like before i start playing with this

But every since I flashed this new JB leak its back and that fix don't work. But it works fine on ICS.
