On/Off music?

Um...what are you guys talking about? The Droid doesn't make any sound on startup or shutdown.
Maybe certain Droids dont, but specifically, the Droid X does in fact play a "start-up" audio file, as well as when you plug/unplug it from a PC...this one in fact ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBuLij0l7SU&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube - HELLOMOTODROID

To answer the original question for the OP...unfortunately, at this time I dont know how to change it, but I am sure someone on here does...just have to be patient...;)

Hehehehe...see, just have to be patient and doesnt hurt to look around in different forums on this forum...Credit goes to CheeseMcGee...hope this answers your question....:)

You can change your startup/shutdown sound. Whichever sound you have set as your default notification will play on startup or shutdown. You can change it to any of the stock notifications and that will work, but if you choose a sound on your SD card, you won't hear the sound on startup. The boot sound is played during the mounting of your SD card, which is why it can't play that sound.

If you want to use a non-stock sound as your default notification, it requires root access and a program like Root Explorer.

I don't feel comfortable posting it here, but if you PM me I will send you the instructions.
