OK guys, coming to X from D1.

I've had my D1 since launch day over a year ago. Rooted in Jan and been modding it ever since. But i'm buying my buddies X this week. Can anyone tell me what i need to know about the X? What's different about rooting/running ROMs/theming the X than the D1? also what programs do ya'll suggest? I think i'm going with Focused and who makes the best kernels for the X?
