OK Button on Droid 2 query keyboard

Can anyone tell me what this is used for? I searched forums and can't find any reference to it at all.

it's like a finger press, so if you're browsing the web and using the directional buttons to select something, you press the ok button to confirm the action. like a left click on a mouse or the a button on an xbox.
