Notification Sound, help

My notification sound for txt msgs and email is locked on the sound "Gamma". When I go to the sound settings and change it to another notification sound, when I get a msg it plays the "Gamma" sound. Even though in the notifications section it is not checked to play that sound. Can anyone help?

You're setting it per application right? If it's truly not working. Clear data on the app and if that still doesn't work, then you might want to factory reset.

Thanks, Mr. Smith! I was setting it with the main settings menu, instead of the app. Works now!

OK I am missing something. I do not see where I can set a different tone for Gmail verses my Heywire texting app!

On edit, I was able to set a different one in Heywire.
