not sure what happened please help

I just installed the root file and got the bb and overclocked my motorola droid 2.1 to 1ghz lv and installed the nexus theme. phone was working great for about a good hour and all of a sudden it wouldn't connect to the network than almost immediately it shut off. for about 1 sec i saw the motorola sign as if it was rebooting than shut off completely and couldn't turn it on. it couldn't have been the battery cause it was plugged into my laptop the whole time. i listened to christm's advice on a different topic and plugged it in with a wall charger and now it's up an running. whew! did i do something wrong with the install of the rooting and etc. am i overclocking the cpu too much? thank you for all your help

Sounds like you run the battery down to far. USB charging does not charge as much or as fast as a wall charger. Plus when your in recovery it does not charge at all.
