Looks like when this gets rooted it will make a nice little Android tablet.

My sister got one of these, she was kinda disapointed, and I was like, you have no idea what this is gonna be like when it gets rooted, just wait

Nook Rooted!

:icon_ banana:Well its Rooted and minus having a Camera and Phone functionality its exactly like my rooted Droid Phone. BAsically an inexpensive Galaxie Pad. I have full access to the market and so far eveything works perfectly. Im was Running Launcher pro and it worked perfectly but now I have GDE, Ive always been partial to GDE. It still has all the functionality of B&N stock and its by far the best thing ever at $250.00 Im still on android 2.1 but will be dealing with that shortly. :)

I have the Nook Color rooted and am extremely happy. It is very fast and the IPS screen is fabulous. I think this tab will take me into the middle of next year so I don't have to run right out and buy a Xoom. I am really thinking the 7" might be the way to go. Would like to see some Galaxy Tab apps ported though!

hmmm.... mine is super slow and after about a minute of using it the screen starts going insane selecting things i'm not actually pointing at...

wish there was some kind of .sbf equivalent so i could redo the rooting process.

oh well, at least it was fun changing the boot animation and everything :)

Honestly, mine runs faster (mush faster) than my droidX even though the Nook is clocked at 800mhz with the same processor, integration must be better or something.

Try resetting the device and re-rooting.

do the 8 failed reboots and it loads stock nook software on it. then use autonooter and you should be golden.

i bought my wife a NC for christmas because she really likes reading, and i really like tinkering with android. so it took about a week to convince here that Rooting was the way to go, and now we have a pretty awesome little tablet for $250. pretty hard to beat. plus with my DX tethering, it is pretty much a galaxy tab at half the price. cant wait for clockwork to get sorted out (i read that it is still not ready for prime time) and some custom ROMs on it, this thing will be amazing.

Clockwork is running great now and ready for prime time (altho no custom ROMs yet, that I have seen).

I am running ROM Manager, version 3.0.0.5 (but actually the one in the Market shows 3.0.0.7). To get it running, all I did was download it from the Market (I also have the Premium license, so downloaded that too, but that is optional) and installed it on my NC. Once installed and opened, I flashed the recovery and it automatically recognized that I had a Nook Color and after asking for SuperUser permissions, flashed successfully.

I was then able to reboot into Recovery Mode and do a backup of my system as it sits now. Very fast and smooth!

Mine is rooted and running the new 950mhz kernel. It is screaming fast.

It sounds like you have problems that can only be corrected by some slightly drastic steps. The first I would try is to on into the Clockwork thread that has already been linked in this thread. In that thread is a link to the new full Clockwork backup. You can use that to do a nandroid restore and I think that will help your phone dramatically. There is something wrong with your phone and or the root.

If the above doesn't solve your issues, then there are zips now to return your phone to bone stock. If it is still slow as a stock device, you need to return it. But I really think one of these flashes is going to solve your problems.
