The latest noob here.
Getting a couple of Droid 2 Globals for my wife and I within the next week or so.
Been looking at Droid handsets for awhile now. Have a had a BlackBerry 8830 as my work phone for awhile. So any phone I get had to be world capable. I also like the QWERTY keyboard and wanted one I could actually touch - so that meant either slideout or built-in - virtual wouldn't do it.
So the field sort of narrowed for me. I saw a Droid Pro about a 6 weeks back and wasn't impressed. They keyboard was way to small. The Droid X really impressed the geek in me but the lack of a kybd was a deal breaker. So that really left me with the Droid 2. But when I was ready to buy back in October the Droid 2 was not world capable.
An acquaintance of mine that works in VZW Product Marketing knew of my angst and just told me to wait. He wouldn't tell me anything else. Then he told me to start checking the VZW website. A few days later the Droid 2 World quietly appeared. :icon_ banana:
Now I am just waiting to see what the Thanksgiving sales bring tomorrow.
