(overclocking issues) Okay, this is now a problem for real. The answer to the last problem was... that i didnt need to do that step. but now im at the part where it says

"dd if=/sdcard/flash_image of=/system/bin/flash_image
Copies the flash_image file to the System Bin directory."

I dont know what the problem is, or what i would need to know to fix this problem. anybody?

Do you have the flash_image file on your sd card?

yes i do. Im not sure of where exactly its supposed to be.

Then again, if i change the placement of the file, from where do i have to restart the instructions?

(anyways, where is it supposed to be? i dont have a system/bin folder, or a system bin folder.)

Oh, but you do.

Assuming you already have root access, did you mount the /system directory as read-write? This absolutely must be done.

Yes i used that command. after that the instructions say to put in
dd if=/sdcard/flash_image of=/system/bin/flash_image
to which i get the error that it doesnt exist.

What should be the location, because i dont have a systembin, system bin, or system/bin folder on my droid (or should i have to make it?)

(EDIT: should the droid be mounted, or unmounted during this part?)

You do have /system/bin, its just not visible to a non-root file manager.

Try this instead.

dd if=/sdcard/flash_image of=/data/local/flash_image

The guide says nothing about using the droid to manage the file. it just says to stick it in the sdcard folder.

What is the output of

ls -l /sdcard/flash_image

Are you using adb or a terminal console?

using adb. the guide doesnt say anything about terminal console.

EDIT: says file not found. But... i can guarentee its there...

EDIT2: says file is not found mounted, OR unmounted... guess that answers my question.

The sdcard should not be mounted to your pc anymore.

/system should be mounted as read/write
