No Notification Sound with Texts

Got my upgrade this morning, but now every time I receive a text, there is no notification sound or vibration unless the screen is off. Any ideas how to fix this?

All of the notification sound options are checked. Still no sound. If the screen is off, the sounds play. When the messages are open and active, I get nothing.

So if the screen is on and you're not in your messaging app does it sound?

Ok well if you are in your messaging app and screen on, not getting a sound might be normal as it assumes you are looking at the screen. Could be a change to Froyo. I use handcent and I believe I get notified no matter what.

Do you recommend handcent overall? Im reading a lot of complaints from people with Froyo on their Incredible

I would recomened it. I don't think it would operate on DINC different then my D1. Much more customization!

No Notification at ALL!!

I'm brand new to the forum and I registered just for this problem. I'm using a Samsung Fascinate and recently upgrade my OS. Ever since then, my Notification sound and vibrate will just quit working. The only way to get it working again is by turning off the phone or pulling the battery. This is only a temporary fix as it will eventually stop working again.

Any ideas? I never had this problem before the upgrade.

Mine quit working too. Right after the upgrade. Everything is turned on and set, but no sounds.

If you have not figured it out yet then here is how to fix it. Menu, Personalize, Notification sound, and then change the sound under Message.
