"no more room on this home screen"
is the message I get when I tried to:

#1 - open Widgets Power Control with an ultimate attempt to:
#2 - toggle-off GPS to
#3 - slow down battery drain.

What do I need to do to get to #1; #2; and ultimately #3.

The stock power control widget is a 4x1, meaning it takes up an entire row. Maybe clear some icons out to place it? Is your GPS running all the time?

Take some stuff off of that particular home screen.....or try it on one that doesn't have as much stuff on it...

Power Control widget fills one row (four spaces) on your home screen, so you need to remove some icons.

Thanks

I didn't know I had more than one "home screen".

Now that I did that, I got the power control icons up. Which one toggles off the GPS? or other battery draining apps?

I don't know. I assume it is.

How can I tell?

I leave GPS turned on all the time, with wifi off and brightness set to about 10%. GPS is only using the battery when it's actually being used by some app. You can tell because a satellite dish icon will appear next to your 3G reception at the top.

No More Room

Use the folders, then you can categorize some of your apps within a folder. You can add as many folders as will fit on a screen. To get a folder, just long touch on one of the screens that has an open space and you can place the folder on the screen. Once there you can drag apps into the folder.
