Hi to all,

I just ordered my Droid yesterday, but am not a newbie to Android as I've had a G1 for almost a year now. I had great service from T-Mobile but needed to upgrade the phone and Droid is the best with a keyboard. I don't like soft-keyboards but I know the transition is inevitable.

Has anyone experience with back-up from G1 to Droid using My Backup Pro?

Welcome welcome, I think you'll like the Droid over the G1, and this forum is full of great help.

I dont have any experience going from G1 to Droid, but here are my thoughts:

Contacts: Easy with Google account
Apps: Just re-download, to prevent screwing stuff up
SMS/MMS: There are a few apps that will allow you to import/export these as HTML or XML -- use one of those apps -- the less proprietary the backup format, the better off you're going to be
Other files: Just use a PC to copy them from the G1 to the Droid's SD card.

MyBackupPro works great, but I fear for you going from one phone to another, you may run into issues.

Good luck
