Hi all,
Love love my new droid, upgraded from a Dare (whiched I loved too!) I have been playing and adding apps to my droid. I'm not sure what i have running or whats going on but my battery is draining super fast. I charged it over night. and with in 3 hrs was dead. i've only had it less then a month. am i running to much stuff at once that i don't know of, how can i tell, i did download an app called systems but it confuses me with all the technical stuff. i click on the systems app and close all task but i read today that i shouldn't do that. where can i find some tips on how to save on the battery.
Happy droiding!

Welcome to the one place you'll find answers to all you droid inquiries.

The battery issue is a common one out there. Our droids have awesome screens and apps but sometimes that comes at a price. There's so much that comes in to play when trying to figure out what on your phone is draining the battery.... that's if it really is something on your phone and not a bad battery.

What apps are you running, what widgets installed, rooted or non-rooted are all common areas to start.

And the basics... keep wifi and bluetooth turned off when not in use (leave GPS on, it only uses battery when being used by an app), turn sync off, turn your screen brightness down, set any widgets to a longer refresh time... with a proper setup, you should be able to get at least 8-10 hours out of a full charge.

I keep gps, wifi, bluetooth, and sync on all the time and I have screen brightness set to automatic. I don't use many widgets. My battery lasts a long time. I tend to think that widgets and apps are the big battery drainers. I'm not saying that you need to use a task killer, just that you might want to tone it down on the number of apps/widgets you have using cpu. Examples: any widget will use CPU just to display, automatic task killers are not needed, antivirus also a waste.

You can check which apps are responsible for battery usage in phone settings.
