Newbie to the Droid and want to learn more

Greetings everyone,

I have only had my Droid for a few months now and want to learn more about all the functions and capabilities of this great phone. I also am interested in learning whether or not this type of phone will allow keyloggers on it. Reason I ask, is because someone I know seems to know a lot about my messages, phone calls, etc and this is someone who doesn't have access to my phone physically.
I have done a bit of research and Webwatcher states that they have a program that allows a person to send a text message to any phone that is the target phone and then the person can see everything that goes on with that phone. Is there any validity to this?

Thanks,
Sweetpea :)

Omg that's so scary, and a good question. I'm interested in knowing more about this I hope someone has an answer.

Yes, it is. I went to the Webwatcher site and was shocked to find out just how much they can do to track you electronically. Maybe I am just naive but there should be more protection than that. I am hoping there is an application that can detect the undectable, such as a keylogger, like Webwatcher. Truly terrifying.

If anyone has any information about keyloggers on the droid phone, I would welcome the information. I want the keylogger off my phone and I'm interested in knowing how to do that.
Thanks,
Sweetpea

Original droid? Which carrier? What makes you suspect a keylogger? Is this person in question is quoting your text's sent to other ppl pretty much verbatim or something?

If you answer is D1 and VZW...is it possible this person somehow has access to your Verizon account detials/logs online?

I have the Motorola Droid, verizon. Even if they had access to my account they wouldn't be able to see the content of the text messages. Would they? Can you see the content of text messages in your Verizon account? If so, how do you do this? They have said things that are strikingly close to text messages or conversations.

Wow this is a weird one. I'm not aware of an area on your account page that shows anything more than routing logs for your texts and calls, (actual msg contents are not listed).

As far as a keylogger being inserted onto your phone just by accepting a text message from this person; it sounds pretty unlikely to me unless you manually opened an attached file that came with it. I'm not an expert on Android OS so I can't tell you it's impossible with any certainty, but I really doubt that it. Has this person ever had access to your phone while you were not around? This logger would have to be pushing data after the fact somehow...

I think more details are needed here, or you just need to completely wipe your phone and SD card back to factory settings for peace of mind.

I had my phone restored. Things seemed to have calmed down. Not sure if this person had login details to my account but I didn't change that so I could have a baseline. There had to be something put on my phone. So maybe they had access to my phone and I didn't know it. Now that that's over, Im looking forward to learning about the droid.
