Hi all,

I am new here and don't even have my Droid 2 yet. Just ordering it. This is my first smart phone. I am computer literate. One reason I picked the Droid 2 is because I like having a physical keyboard on my phone. I currently have an LG Dare but have not used it for the internet at all, was trying to avoid extra expenses on my bill. But I am moving up now.

What does "rooted" mean? What is FroYo?

Then I have to ask Droid 2 or Droid X? Daughter needs new phone too and the buy one get one free is for Droid 2 is looking like a good deal.

Rooted essentially means hacked. It enables us nerdy users to use the phone to its full extent not just what Verizon/Motorola want us to be able to do. I.e. overclock the processor, Wi-Fi tether, install custom Roms, and so on. You can read up al about it on these forums :) Froyo is the version of the android OS 2.2. as for the X or D2? That's persona opinion. I believe the D2 would be your better choice.
