New to this. How to make faster.

I am looking to make my eris faster and im new to all this rooting. I dont know if i need a rom or kernal or something. Please help or give me some roms or anything to make it faster please. Thanks

it's time for you to do your homework, there are a lot of eris roms out there and only you can decide which one is right for you. xtrrom and xtrsense are generally thought to be the most stable. the eris is not going to get a whole lot faster as it simply doesn't have the hardware guts to back it up, but rooting will help and some of the roms come overclocked. just to get you started, i'm going to give you a link to the best method of rooting Universal Eris Root for Dummies! - Android Forums

I am a noobie also and have a Eris. Root your phone first. You get the app free.
I tried all roms available and settled on xtrSense.
