New to the forum

Just received my Droid X about a week ago and came to this forum to get information about issues I've been having with caller I'd readout. Haven't found any help with that but have found all kinds of other great info.

Can't turn off caller I'd read out

Thank you for such a quick response. When my phone gets an incoming call, there'a loud announcement "verizon wireless" followed by the ringtone. I've gone into settings for caller I'd readout and set that to "ring only", but this continues. Only thing that stops it is if I go completely silent. Any suggestions?

im on 2.2 which has a different settings setup but try this:

go into settings>call settings. and check all of those to make sure they are what you want.

Found answer

As luck would have it, found the answer on the verizon wireless rum just now. Apparently this happens if you have roaming tone checked. It gives you this announcement whether or not you're roaming. Go figure.
