new rookie to droids finally took the plunge-and it hurt LOL!

Hi everyone!

Carried an old sumsung for some 5+ years and decided it was finally the time to treat myself to a real smartphone. Got an awesome unlocked Motorola RAZR XT 907 a month ago running on wallyworld unlimited service and had been in heaven since! Until I ran an update, (believed to be from verizon) yesterday?
So now I sit with no cell, (elderly parents that rely on the number) and a prepaid carrier who's customer support is at the very bottom of the bucket in regards to help.:blink:
Hope to learn from all here as I'm a rookie when it comes to the technology here. Doubtful I'll ever be able to share anything other than performance on my RAZR-but will gratefully try to do so.

Please elaborate on the "no cell".
Is it dead dead, not working right, works but won't make phone calls, etc?
