I just found this site and really enjoy it and love my new Droid. Frist smartphone I have ever had and am amazed at how easy it is to learn...well most things.

The only sad thing about it is the battery life! I was wondering if anyone knows anything about docking stations and just what they do? Do they sit on your desk and charge your phone? I know stupid question but as I said I am a newbie and still learning. Also I need another wall charger so that it will last through the day at work. Know of any good places I can get one other than Verizon $$

Welcome, Jane! You'll find this to be a very friendly place full of great people and information! Hope you enjoy your time here!

And now to your battery charger question - The primary concern is that the charger you buy has a regulated output to 5V +/- 0.25 and put out at least 500ma (the more ma, the faster the phone will charge up to a point). Many of the aftermarket chargers have unregulated outputs and put out as much as 9Vdc, particularly toward the end of a charge cycle when the current draw is low. The Droid is only spec'ed for 4.75-5.25Vdc at 500-1000ma. We've seen many posts proving that the out of spec voltage may damage the phone and/or battery and make the Droid act weird in general. So be careful. If your new charger meets the spec, you should be fine. Hope that helps you!

:welcome:
