I previously had the LG enV Orange, so a physical set of keys was important to me. So far my swyping skills are about 50%. That along with the camera got me interested in the Droid2 so I just jumped in.

Now that I've got a few days with it, I've got the basics down and am now looking for apps I like. The sales rep load app killer for me before letting me leave the store since I expressed a concern over battery life.

The camera was the next point of interest for me. I like having one available in case something fun pops up, so lemme know what apps you might recommend for me.

thanks!

Congrats on your D2!

Tons of good apps to try and cram in one post. For me, task killer (or any similar) are a no-no. You might get varying opinions on that.

What plans do you have for the phone? You staying stock or rooting?

I'm not even familiar with what "rooting" is, but I suspect I'll be staying stock....at least until I understand the advantages of not doing so & what it entails.

Hello and welcome to the forums!!

Definitely read up on the link that Spaz provided and make your decision based on that info as to the need of a task killer...there are several camera apps in the market - Vignette always seems to have good reviews.

Good luck and jump in and enjoy!!

Shoulda got a DX! Lol...j/k. I third the dump the task killer advice. You don't need it with Froyo anyway. My absolute recommendations are Launcher Pro Plus, SwitchPro, Beautiful Widgets, AudioManager Pro (lets you setup volume profiles & schedule them to automatically enable at certain times of the day), SportsMobile, TapaTalk Pro if you plan on hanging in the forums, Desktop Visualizer, Folder Organizer. I could go on & on but those will get you started for customizing.

And if you're tech savvy I highly recommend rooting. It opens up a whole new world and makes a great phone so much better.

Rooting, my definition would be customizing your phone on a whole nuther level. Read up in the D2 section and go from there, the post above me (@ unseenme) has hit many of the favorite apps used to spice up the look and function of Droids. Check them out!
