New Droid with better keyboard?

I tried searching because i heard of this a couple weeks back but i cant find anything/the thread, tomorrow i think is the last day i can return the phone so i would like to know if it was true? I can wait 1-2 weeks without it if a better one is.

The article that came out on Jan 13th mentions it was just a rumor and nothing 'official.' I highly doubt this will come out in 2 weeks if at all. We'll end up waiting for the Driod 2 next year or a modification to the phone like they did with the Palm Pixi/Palm Pre. For imagination purposes:

I loved the keyboard on my Samsung i760. If I could transplant that keyboard to my Droid I would be set. Here's a rough Photoshopped version. LOL

Yeah true I doubt it would come out anytime soon (2 months) more like Q4 of 2010.

Nice Photoshop pic,but i think i would rather keep the one i have now, and some people will probably think that picture is a new one coming out,I wouldn't be surprised if i see that pic on Engadget tomorrow morning with the title "New DROID 2" or something -_-

and I was also reading about this somewhere else and saw this:

Motorola just sold 1.2 million DROIDs and if you think they're going to redesign and release a new version a few months after the original release ... you're crazy.

Which made me think i have nothing to worry about :)

I think that it shouldn't have a dpad cuz thats taking up so much space on the original droid keyboard already.

A D-pad is a must for me, but I readily admit that the d-pad on the current droids are WAY to big.

For me d-pads are used to select small items in a browser where touching is too impressible. And a decent d-pad would go a long way in terms of gaming controls, imo.
