New Batttery

I have a new battery for my Droid 2 I got from Best Buy. I've had it on charge for over 2 hours and the battery icon displays the symbol (?). Can you explain? Thanks

I do not know for sure, havent seen that before. My guess is it may not know the charge capacity of the battery, so the battery may be defective. But you may want to take it to bestbuy or phone store to verify. Maybe start at besybuy, get a new battery

I think that means what the heck is this thing you got inside me? Where's the old battery, can you put that back in?

Found out the Droid 2 accepts ONLY the OEM battery! Checking the battery via "settings" shows the battery with % available as expected. It will not show this at the top right of the display. Only a grey battery with a ? The battery does in fact appear to function correctly but you will never know the charge state.
