Need to return to 100% stock..

I Had a rooted UD 2.4 phone and had a touchscreen failure, to get the replacement I'm positive I'll need to be unrooted and stock. I returned to the stock build that was suppose to be un-rooted downloaded from rom manager. Updated twice to the most recent froyo build FRG83D, BUT I'm still showing the superuser icon!!! What next?

If you have a motorola you can use rsd lite and flash the sbf. This is the best thing to do. I've returned droids with the super user app installed and had no problems.

ahh, k. I was worried about the super user app giving me issues. So that won't cause me trouble in going back to vz for warranty? I found a way to remove it, but it involves rooting my phone again *doh*, I already have to root my replacement, and rooting this again just to unroot it seems quite wasteful lol.

To get rid of the SU icon you need to do a hardware reset. If that doesn't do it you'll need to SBF.

If a tech sees the SU icon you can get billed for the phone replacement unless you're going through Asurion -- they don't seem to care about it being rooted or not.

I'll give just a hardware reset a try. That is more what I had expected, this would not be through asurion, as it is warranty and not insurance. Forgive my ignorance on this one, but what is SBF..?

SBF means something nobody knows that has answered, but it's the stock image for your device. It's what Verizon techs would flash onto your phone if they weren't feeling lazy and you had a major software issue.

Thanks Ill give RSDLite a try as the factory reset did not work =/ . Tallica, I already have my phone unrooted and back on FRG83D, so flashing the stock frg22C will not do any good in ridding me of the super user permissions app. RSD looks like a handy tool for future use anyways, so I'll go that route .. beats the heck outta re-rooting just to remove an app and unroot again.
